Granite
The Griffith Quarry in Penryn, California is a registered historical landmark in the National Register of Historic Places. The quarry was established by Welsh immigrant, Griffith Griffith, back in 1864, and its high-quality granite was actually used to construct many buildings in both San Francisco and Sacramento including the California State Capital.

Gold
The California Gold Rush began with the discovery of gold by James W. Marshall on January 24th,1848 at Sutter’s Mill in Coloma, California just 24 miles from Penryn, CA. Migrants from all around the world such as Europe, Asia, South America, Oceania, and even other parts of the United States arrived in Placer County in search of gold in the area.

Green
Embracing the phrase “green is the new gold,” Lecavalier Cellars seeks to revitalize the rich agricultural history of Placer County that was once known as the fruit capital of the country. The region, at one point, was producing more wine grapes than Sonoma and Napa combined as many gold miners tried their hand at planting grapes after the Gold Rush.
